Artisan: Gopal Shrestha

Born in 1965, Gopal Shrestha is our ceramic artist who created the unique black pottery ceramic. He developed a unique firing technology without mixing any chemical bringing forth his collection as pottery artwork. After graduating from Fine Art college, he self taught himself in ceramic art from 1982. Since then he has become a pioneer in terracotta sculpture for the young generation in Nepal.Within these past 2 decades , he has survived working on ceramic as an art and hopes his children will take up as a profession when they grow up.At present he works as an art teacher in 2 schools and a college.
